HISTORY

In 2000, the group, Kingsway was created. We traveled all over the southeast, praising God in song. In 2006 my wife Teresa was diagnosed with cancer. With this diagnosis, the down turn of the economy, and the loss of our lead singer, we decided to come off of the road.

In 2012 Kingsway experienced “A New Beginning” when the group was revived and blessed with another great group of Godly men. New additions to the group were Tenor – Phillip Dewease;  Lead -Travis Richards, and the youngest newcomer to Southern Gospel music , Tony’s  son,  Devan Baker, singing Bass, along with the original member, and Manager,  Baritone -Tony Baker.

The Lord has richly blessed our ministry, as God has, and continues to open doors daily. We would love for you and your family to come out and be a part of our worship services. In closing, our prayer is that these songs will touch you and bless you in a special way. Please continue to pray for us as God directs our paths.

Tony Baker

Tony Baker

Baritone

My name is Tony Baker.  I was born to Charles and Emily Baker in 1957. I was saved at the age of 8 at a revival meeting with Evangelist Billy Kelly doing the preaching. At age 14, I began my singing ministry with my dad, Charles Baker, and my brother, John Baker. We were called The Melodyaires Quartet.  Our sole purpose as Kingsway is to see souls saved and people lifted up in faith, as we await the second coming of The Lord Jesus Christ. (For the fields are white unto harvest, but the labors are few. Matthew 9:37 KJV)

Although I lost my lovely wife, Teresa, to cancer she continues to live on in my heart and in the hearts of our three wonderful children. Jason is our oldest, Megan is the middle child, and Devan is the youngest. He sings the bass harmony part with Kingsway.

If you are ever able to come so see us in concert, we pray you will be blessed.

Devan Baker

I was saved at Pleasant View Welcome Baptist Church, at the age of 8.  I have been around Southern Gospel music all of my life, with my Dad, Grandfather, and my Uncle, but I have never sung with a group. I asked my Dad if I could come and sing bass with Kingsway, since they were previously a trio. He said ‘yes’ and here I am, singing with my first group!  I am enjoying the blessings of the Lord through song.  Hope to see you are one of our singing’s.
